Procedure performed: REVISION Double Eyelids or Asian Crease Surgery Approx. procedure time: 1.0 hr Description: This patient had multiple surgeries performed by another surgeon to correct the noticeable unevenness created by her surgery. She came to Dr. Lee at her original surgeon's recommendation to correct the problem. With only one attempt, Dr. Lee achieved this result by recreating a crease at a higher height on her right upper lid. Unilateral procedures are more challenging since it's difficult to achieve an even result when performing surgery on only one lid. (After photos were taken 1 Month after surgery/procedure)

Procedure performed (top): Full incision asian crease with blepharoplasty and epicanthoplasty Approx. procedure time: 2.5 hrs Description: Dr. Lee explained to this patient prior to the surgery that she has significant eyes shape asymmetry. Her right eye shape is completely different then her left. Her right eye slants downward at the outer corners and is rounder while her left eye shape slants upward at the outer corners and is longer. Her right eye is also smaller or narrower than her left- less white area noticeable in inner corner. The crease on her right eye follows her right eye shape which is more rounder and slants downward at the outer corner and her left eye crease slants upward following her brow shape. **this patient is a great example of how the crease follows the overall shape of the eyes and brow due to the curvature of the eyes individually. (After photos were taken 1 Month after surgery/procedure)

Procedure performed: Double Eyelids or Asian Crease & Epicanthoplasty Surgery Approx. procedure time: 2.5 hrs Description: The patient's eyes were narrow and had a downward shaped and asymmetric epicanthus(corner of eyes). To elongate and widen the shape of the eye(helping to also decrease the distance between her eyes), epicanthoplasty surgery with full-incision Asian crease surgery with fat and excess skin removal was performed. The result is a more aesthetically ideal almond-shaped eyes. (After photos were taken 3 Months after surgery/procedure)

Procedure performed: REVISION Double Eyelids or Asian Crease Surgery Approx. procedure time: 2.0 hrs Description: This patient had surgery in Korea and was not happy with the unnaturally high and harsh/very deep crease. The previous surgeon also removed too much fat and caused a sunken look that is not aesthetically pleasing especially for a man. Fortunately, the patient had some excess skin so Dr. Lee was able to remove the scar created by the previous surgery, lower the crease height and also relocate fat around the eyes to the crease line to help resolve the sunken appearance. The result is a crease height that is more appropriate for an Asian anatomy and a softer more natural appearance. (After photos were taken 3 Months after surgery/procedure)

Dr. Lee also performed epicanthoplasty surgery to elongate and widen her eyes. (After photos were taken 1 Month after surgery/procedure)

Procedure performed: Asian crease via full incision with excess skin removal and epicanthoplasty Approx. procedure time: 2.5 hrs Description: Patient was bothered by her asymmetry and also small eyes. She wanted a more open and alert appearance. Dr. Lee recommended the epicanthoplasty procedure to elongate her eyes to allow for a more visible crease. Dr. Lee informed her that a simple crease and epicanthoplasty surgery will not solve her eyes asymmetry that is due to a lot of different factors in her natural anatomy. She understood how challenging her anatomy was and wanted just an improvement and she was very happy with the result. (After photos were taken 1 Month after surgery/procedure)

Procedure performed: Double Eyelids or Asian Crease & Epicanthoplasty Surgery Approx. procedure time: 2.5 hrs Description: Asian crease surgery or double eyelid surgery with epicanthoplasty surgery (elongating eyes by incision at corner of eyes near nasal area) was performed due to eye asymmetry and the pulling downward of epicanthus. The result achieved is a more natural appearance with elongated eye shape and more subtle/natural crease; Dr. Lee prefers low crease for men due to more natural appearance. (After photos were taken 3 Months after surgery/procedure)

Procedure performed: Full incision Asian crease surgery with excess skin removal Approx. procedure time: 2.0 hrs Description: The patient's eyes was very asymmetric and had existing wrinkles created by use of skin glue and tape to create crease for many years. She also stretched her left eyelids skin by using the glue and tape so this case was very challenging. To create a clean crease, Dr. Lee removed excess skin to minimize her asymmetry and to also create a higher crease that she desired. (After photos were taken 3 Months after surgery/procedure)

Procedure performed: Asian crease or double eyelids surgery with excess skin and fat removal with epicanthoplasty Approx. procedure time: 2.5 hrs Description: Patient was bothered by her sad and hooded eyes. Dr. Lee advised her that she had a mild ptosis on her right upper lid (weakness of the eyelid muscle that does not allow the eyes to open as wide as her left). Also, her right eye itself is noticeably smaller then her left- overall anatomy of her right eye is smaller then the left. Once the crease was created, the asymmetry and ptosis was unveiled even more. She was happy with the result of her left eye but did not like her right eye result. She wanted the right eye to open more like the left and wanted it to be as big as her right. Dr. Lee advised her that it is her muscle causing her right eye not to open as much as her left and does not have anything to do with the crease- the height of her crease from lash line is very similar. He also advised her that the overall size of her eyes can not be corrected by just cosmetic procedures. A crease is simply a line created that follows the natural shape and curvature of ones eyelids. Dr. Lee advised her to have a ptosis or muscle repair procedure to open her right eyes more. She elected not to have the procedure. (After photos were taken 2 Months after surgery/procedure)

Procedure performed: Suture Double Eyelid or Asian Crease Surgery Approx. procedure time: 1.0 hrDescription: Patient came to see Dr. Lee to address her very asymmetric appearance of her eyes. (After photos were taken 1 Month after surgery/procedure)

Procedure performed: Double Eyelids or Asian Crease & Epicanthoplasty Surgery Approx. procedure time: 2.5 hrs Description: Before and after photos of Double eyelid or Asian Crease Surgery along with Epicanthoplasty or Medial canthoplasty - surgery to widen the eyes at the nasal area to create less space between the nose area and to create an elongated or almond shaped eyes. This patient also had severe asymmetric eyes due to her natural crease on her left eyes only. Dr. Lee repositioned her left natural crease and created a crease for her right eyes. (After photos were taken 3 Months after surgery/procedure)

Before After

Performed by General Cosmetic surgeon John J.W. Lee, md- case 184

Procedure performed: Double Eyelids or Asian Crease & Epicanthoplasty Surgery Approx. procedure time: 2.5 hrs Description: This patient had noticeable eye asymmetry along with very narrow eyes with thick eyelids skin. There are numerous factors that is causing her asymmetry- 1) lower right brow 2) shorter epicanthus (inner corner) 3) right brow bone sits lower which causes her eyes to be smaller. ***the brow impacts greatly on the height and shape of the crease created so noticeable brow asymmetry will cause the crease to appear smaller or larger depending on the brow height. The patient elected to have only the double eyelids and epicanthoplasty procedure only WITHOUT the brow procedure. This is the reason why her right crease is slightly lower then her left. (Post op photo was taken 1 month after surgery; her epicanthoplasty scar is still visible and took 3-4 months to improve)
