Kybella Treatment Procedure

Kybella treatment is typically completed in a series of short office visits to our Bryn Mawr office. Patients may return to their normal routine immediately following their chin contouring session.

• Treatment involves a thorough consultation and evaluation of the fat particles beneath the chin.
• After mapping the area under the jaw line, unwanted fat is targeted through several injections with a tiny needle.
• At our practice, we focus on patient comfort. This may be enhanced with a cold compress or topical numbing cream.
• Following treatment the primary side affects most patients experience include slight swelling, a feeling of fullness beneath the chin, redness, and mild bruising. Each of these side effects is typically minor and short-lived.

One significant way in which Kybella differs from plastic surgery is that multiple treatments are necessary to achieve the desired result. Most patients begin to see a positive change in their profile in the first few weeks following their initial injections.

A significant advantage to the Kybella process is, like plastic surgery, treated fat cells are eliminated. This can lead to permanent, beautiful results that are generally easy to maintain. Subsequent treatments are scheduled approximately 6 weeks apart. Optimal results may be achieved and 2 to 4 appointments.
