If the skin on your forehead, upper eyelids or eyebrows is giving into the effects of gravity, a brow lift may be the perfect option for you. Also referred to as a forehead lift, a brow lift tightens the soft tissues of the forehead to provide a smoother contour to your forehead, eyelids and brows. Brow lift surgery is used on thousands of people each year with pleasing results.
A brow lift may be right for you if:
- Your brow is in a sagging or low position, creating a sad or grumpy expression
- You have frown lines between your eyes, eyebrows or across the top of your nose
- You have pronounced horizontal creases that run across your forehead
- You are a female with excess tissue or skin hanging over your eyes, making it impossible to apply eye makeup
- You notice that lifting the skin above your eyebrow into a higher position gets rid of excess skin in your upper eyelid
A brow lift is a fairly simple procedure that can be done three different ways:
- Open Brow Lift
Also known as a coronal lift, this is the most common type of brow lift and is most ideal for women with a small forehead. A single incision is made behind the brow line from the ear, followed by the removal of excess fat and skin. The eyebrows are then repositioned to a position that is in harmony with your facial structure.
- Endoscopic Brow Lift
This is a more involved type of eyebrow lift that includes inserting a small video camera into a small incision in your scalp order to easily view the inside tissue. This more advanced procedure ensures natural looking results and a faster recovery time.
- Limited Incision Technique
This technique is a combination of the two procedures listed above. It doesn’t require the use of an endoscope, and the incision is hidden behind the hairline. This combination allows your surgeon to reposition the soft tissues and skin to correct a drooping forehead and correct wrinkles.
A brow lift can do wonders for your overall appearance and self-confidence, making you happier and more youthful.
