Some Q & A with CoolSculpting Elite
As one of the nation’s Top 150 CoolSculpting practices, Dr. Lee is obviously a big fan of the world’s most popular non-invasive body contouring treatment. We purchased our CoolSculpting machines after the company was acquired by Allergan, a leader in the aesthetic world. Allergan provided the top-notch training we expected, and now we feel we provide the best results and most attention to detail with our CoolSculpting treatments at Lux Skin Lasers.
For this mid-summer blog, no doubt accompanied by some serious Pennsylvania humidity in July, let’s get into a few questions and answers about the cool that is CoolSculpting.
What does a CoolSculpting session feel like?
As the cooling begins during the first few minutes, you feel some pulling from the vacuum suction applied to bring the skin and fat up, along with an intense sensation of cold, as if you’ve applied an ice pack. This soon resolves as the area becomes numb. The new applicators on our CoolSculpting machines require less tissue to be pulled in and they complete treatments in 40 percent less time. It all makes for a very comfortable experience…except for your unwanted fat cells!
How much does CoolSculpting cost?
At Lux Skin Lasers, we’re up front with our pricing. CoolSculpting costs $600 per cycle (the larger applicator called Cool Advantage is $950). We offer discounts for larger quantity packages. Different patients desire or need more cycles than others.
How long does a CoolSculpting session take?
Most areas require between 35 and 60 minutes. The exceptions are Cool Mini for very specific small areas and Cool Advantage for larger areas. We have two CoolSculpting machines, so we use Dual Sculpting on areas if possible. During your consultation, our experienced technicians can give you an idea of the approximate time your sessions will take.
Is there recovery after CoolSculpting?
No. These are completely non-invasive treatments. At the completion of your session, we massage the treated area to remove any numbness, and then you can return to work or your other normal activities immediately. How cool, literally, is that?
When will I see my results?
You may start to see changes as soon as three weeks after your CoolSculpting session. That’s about the point where your body begins fully removing the fat cells that have been killed by the controlled cooling. Your results keep building. They really show themselves after two months. For most patients we recommend a second treatment to the same area one month after the first treatment, as we feel this delivers optimal results.
