Botox for Jaw Clenching, TMJ & Jaw Slimming

What is Jaw Clenching?

Jaw Clenching is simply holding the teeth together and tightening the jaw muscles. It often is an involuntary action due to stress or anxiety while awake or even asleep and oftern results in pain or even teeth grinding. Grinding or bruxism involves moving the jaw with the teeth held together. This results in substantial visible wear and flattening of the teeth which is usually obvious both to dentist and patient.  The jaw Botox treatment has always been very popular request in our practice.

How is Botox used for jaw pain, clenching and TMJ?

Botox is also popular in our practice for patients who have issues with teeth grinding and TMJ. These patients suffer from pain and restless nights due to this issue. Botox effectively treats this issue when injected directly into the jaw muscles that are causing the clenching effect providing relief for these patients.
